ok
i kid you not
you have to try my approach
do not eat after 6pm
you will see quick results and if you keep with it they will continue

I just don't think it works. I have a lot of time before sleep at 6 pm, and being hungry is a no-no in my approach :).

See, the way I see it, this "don't eat after 6 pm" is just another trick to make people eat less. It's not as if food eaten after 6 pm instantly turns to fat and goes to all the wrong places - it's simply false, body doesn't work like that Cinderella's carriage. And going around hungry, be it after 6 pm or any other time, is a sure way to get acquainted with the dreaded yo-yo syndrome. All I have to do to lose weight - is to eat the right food, at the proper times (meaning about every 3 hours during the day - so as to keep the body fully energized and not feeling hungry) and exercise. All the other stuff is unnecessary at best and may be quite harmful. But that's just my way - everybody's got the thing that works for him/her.

hey - whatever works for you
but i am telling you
start small
have a big lunch around 4 -5 and you would be surprised how long it can hold you
it's just my 2cents :)))

Having a big lunch is not a very good idea either - it's a common place that having 2 small meals is better than one that is large. Ask any nutritionist, you'll get the 5-6 meals a day mantra. But hey, I appreciate your concern :).

fine - have lots of small means and approach 6 pm NOT hungry
you will be amazed how much better you feel
i am not kidding
don't you know that i know everything?

But hey, look at this. Some people go to bed at 9 pm, some (like I do) at midnight or even later. Does it make sense that both kinds should stop eating at 6 PM, meaning some will not eat for 3 hours before sleep, others - for 6 hours?

This advice indeed works due to the fact that most people who are unaware of what where and how they eat usually miss all the meals they can during the day, only to devour anything they can grab at late into the night, since by that time they're as hungry as can be. By making them stop eating at 6 PM, you force them to have an orderly meal at some point during the day. It's a psychological trick, has no physiological justification. But hey, don't take my word for it: just consider what this page says and see whether it makes sense:
